P.A.W.S. adoptable pets are housed either in foster homes or at our dog & cat town shelter. Our shelter is open by appointment only. To meet one of our pets, you can e-mail us at pawshancock@aol.com and we will schedule a private one-on-one meeting or you can come to one of our adoption events. Our Matchmaker volunteers conduct adoptions from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on the first and third Saturday of every month at the Tractor Supply Store, 1645 N. State Street, Greenfield, Indiana.
We use a two-step adoption process. Potential adopters must first fill out our Adoption Application form. If an adopter is approved to adopt one of our pets, he/she must sign our Adoption Agreement.
We require 100% spay/neuter of all our adoptable pets. No exceptions. For pets that are too young to be spayed/neutered before they are placed in their new homes, the approved adopter becomes the new foster home and the adopter must sign one of two Adopter Foster Agreements.
We have a 15-day, money back guarantee on all of our adopted pets from the date the adoption is finalized. We want to give a pet and its new family two weeks to get to know each other. If things just aren’t working out at the end of two weeks, bring the pet back to us and we will gladly refund the entire adoption fee.
The adoption fee for each pet includes:
- spay/neuter surgery
- current year’s vaccinations
- heartworm test for dogs
- FIV & Feline Leukemia test for cats
- Deworming and flea treatment
- 30 days of free pet health insurance coverage courtesy of ShelterCare
